Your resumé doesn’t suck, you suck!

by Jeff Price | Jun 10, 2014 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Basic Success Principles, Life & Career Success

Typical conversation in my campus office goes like this: “Uh, Mr. Price my resume sucks, can you help me with it?” “Let me take a look at it.” Resume is reluctantly handed over like its got anthrax on it. “I did it for another class, but...

Commander’s Intent

by Jeff Price | Jun 1, 2014 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Basic Success Principles, Life & Career Success

“It’s about keeping people and planes moving.” That was a mantra attributed to a former boss of mine who was the security director at Denver International Airport. She would chant this mantra, almost literally, to the FAA and TSA regulators and to...

Where’s the Beef!

by Jeff Price | May 26, 2014 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Basic Success Principles, Life & Career Success

I recently just attended an industry conference. It never ceases to amaze me how many people have such outstanding information to share and are experts in their field, so much so that people really want to hear what they have to say, but they have the presentation...

Whittling away at a Block of Wood (or several)

by Jeff Price | May 8, 2014 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Basic Success Principles, Life & Career Success

This week I’m faced with a daunting challenge. I had numerous projects this week, none of which could be done in one sitting and all of which have high priority, plus the usual influx of email pounding my in-box like the water at Niagara. Does any of this sound...

Catching Success

by Jeff Price | Apr 29, 2014 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Basic Success Principles, Life & Career Success

“Son, you’re not going to catch the ball if you keep looking the other way and ducking.” I was getting frustrated the other day that one of my boys, who has just started playing Little League baseball, was not picking up on this concept of actually...

The Power of a Single Snowflake

by Jeff Price | Apr 22, 2014 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Basic Success Principles, Life & Career Success

Have you ever seen an avalanche? Many years ago while my dad and I were driving up to go skiing in Winter Park, Colorado the state patrol stopped traffic so that an avalanche could be intentionally triggered. Had we known at the time that the avalanche was going to...

A year later, the bill proposing to abolish the TSA is sitting in committee taking a very long nap. This is the way Congress quietly disposes of ideas it doesn’t want to touch (S.1180 – Abolish TSA Act of 2025 has been in the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation since March 27). The bill raises an important question: if the TSA were dismantled, what would replace it? The blog article below, written last year, still offers some useful perspective as you consider your own position on the issue.
