A year later, the bill proposing to abolish the TSA is sitting in committee taking a very long nap. This is the way Congress quietly disposes of ideas it doesn’t want to touch (S.1180 – Abolish TSA Act of 2025 has been in the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation since March 27). The bill raises an important question: if the TSA were dismantled, what would replace it?
