Aren’t people who talk to themselves crazy?

by Jeff Price | Aug 27, 2013 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Happiness, Life & Career Success

Growing up as an only child I was frequently told that talking to yourself was the sign of a lunatic. I kind of figured that internal talk was okay but actually talking out loud was a little nuts. Years later when I watched Bob Dole run for President I figured that if...

Peaks and Valleys

by Jeff Price | Aug 6, 2013 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Basic Success Principles, Life & Career Success

As anyone who is ever read any of Spencer Johnson’s work knows that whatever the topic of the book is is not literally what it’s about. It is always a metaphor for a mental change that you need to make. Peaks and Valleys: Making Good and Bad times Work for...

Great Artists Steal

by Jeff Price | Jul 7, 2013 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Brain Matter, Life & Career Success

Former Apple CEO Steve Jobs once said, ““Good Artists Copy, Great Artists Steal.” Turns out great artists also hang out together and steal from each other. So here’s a simple question, why do people who want to be actors or actresses go off to...

How did John Lennon imagine, “Imagine?”

by Jeff Price | Jul 2, 2013 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Brain Matter, Life & Career Success

Where does our creativity come from? We know its somewhere inside our brain but how do we access it? Wouldn’t it be great if we could just turn on a switch and be creative? Sort of a creativity on command? I love the song “Imagine,” by the late John...

Fred the Magician

by Jeff Price | Jun 24, 2013 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Basic Success Principles, Life & Career Success

So when I was in college and working at Target in the “Sound and Photo,” department, I was, for a short period of time, a Fred. It can happy and when it does, being a Fred is like being a magician. You can change someone’s day or even their future...

Fred works at Barnes and Noble

by Jeff Price | Jun 21, 2013 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Basic Success Principles, Life & Career Success

I love books and bookstores. Growing up an only child there obviously wasn’t a sibling around so books became my closest companions. They were always available and never let me down. So naturally, I love bookstores. My local Barnes and Noble is my hangout and...

A year later, the bill proposing to abolish the TSA is sitting in committee taking a very long nap. This is the way Congress quietly disposes of ideas it doesn’t want to touch (S.1180 – Abolish TSA Act of 2025 has been in the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation since March 27). The bill raises an important question: if the TSA were dismantled, what would replace it? The blog article below, written last year, still offers some useful perspective as you consider your own position on the issue.
