How much wasted intelligence is out there?

by Jeff Price | Mar 28, 2013 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Brain Matter, Life & Career Success

As a result of standardized testing and the importance placed on performing well, there is the strong potential that we have plenty of wasted intelligence out in the world. Many parents like to find out that their child is special – of course, because who wants...

by Jeff Price | Mar 26, 2013 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Brain Matter, Life & Career Success

I love stories about successful people – well, I guess that stands to reason as people typically don’t pay thousands of dollars to hear about someone who is a failure. However, what we often find out is that when we read or hear about successful people,...

by Jeff Price | Mar 25, 2013 | 50 Books in 50 Weeks, Brain Matter, Life & Career Success

What are the consequences of believing that your intelligence or personality is fixed, rather than something that you can develop and expand over time? That is the fundamental question posed by Doctor Carol Dweck in Mindset: The New Psychology of...

by Jeff Price | Mar 23, 2013 | Life & Career Success, Parenting

Remember when you knew everything – yea, me too. I was 17. Then years later, do you also remember how you felt when you learned just how little you actually knew at 17?  Yes, the teenage years – when the parental “godlike” image is shattered...

This is the way Congress quietly disposes of ideas it doesn’t want to touch (S.1180 – Abolish TSA Act of 2025 has been in the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation since March 27). The bill raises an important question: if the TSA were dismantled, what would replace it? The blog article below, written last year, still offers some useful perspective as you consider your own position on the issue.
